Rear parcel shelf - removal and refitting
Removal
1 Open the tailgate fully and disengage the
parcel shelf lifting strap loops from the tailgate
retaining knobs.
2 Lift out the parcel shelf pivot pins from their notches in the support brackets and withdraw the shelf.
3 Pull each strap loop through its hole in the rear edge of the shelf by disengaging the upper and lower retaining collars.
4 The shelf brackets are secured with pop rivets which must be drilled out if the brackets are to be removed.
Refitting
5 Refitting is a reversal of removal.

2 Reverse the roadwheel nuts and screw
them fully onto the studs to protect the
threads, then mount the hub carrier assembly
in a vice as shown (see illustration).
